John R. P. Tesser, MD, is currently a practicing rheumatologist at Arizona Arthritis & Rheumatology Associates in Phoenix, AZ. He is also a principal investigator and sub-investigator at the Arizona Arthritis & Rheumatology Research, PLLC, and he has been a principal investigator on more than 300 clinical trials.

After graduating from Yale University, Dr Tesser obtained his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry in New York. He completed his internship and residency program in internal medicine at Maricopa County General Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. Following his residency, he completed his fellowship in Rheumatology at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC (currently the Wake Forest School of Medicine). He served as Chief of Rheumatology at Maricopa Medical Center for 10 years before entering private practice. He is an adjunct assistant professor in the Division of Clinical Education at Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Phoenix.

Dr Tesser has received certifications in internal medicine and the subspecialty of rheumatology from the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Rheumatology and a member of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research and the International Society for Clinical Densitometry. He was the recipient of the 2014 AAPA Paragon Physician-Partnership Award, and has authored more than 70 publications and abstracts in peer-reviewed journals, including The New England Journal of Medicine, Arthritis & Rheumatology, Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, and The Journal of Rheumatology.

Dr Tesser is a consultant and a speaker for many pharmaceutical companies and participates as an educator in numerous CME activities.
