Ian W. Flinn, MD, PhD, is the chief scientific officer of OneOncology and the chief scientific officer of the Greco-Hainsworth Tennessee Oncology Centers for Research, both in Nashville, TN. Dr Flinn earned his medical degree and his PhD in clinical investigation from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He then completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center, followed by hematology and oncology fellowships at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. 


Previous positions include founding program director of the Sarah Cannon Blood & Marrow Transplant programs, director of the Sarah Cannon Center for Blood Cancer, and program director of the Blood Cancer Research and the Lymphoma Research programs at the Sarah Cannon Research Institute. Prior to joining Sarah Cannon, Dr Flinn led the Lymphoma Program at Johns Hopkins Medicine and held numerous leadership positions in clinical research at Johns Hopkins. 


In addition to his leadership positions, Dr Flinn is a hematologist–medical oncologist specializing in the care of patients with lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia, and he is an active clinical investigator in these diseases. His research has been published more than 200 times in scientific publications, including The New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Blood, and The Lancet.
